What I have ventured to present and express in this treatise of love and romance through nostalgic songs and ballads in the whole journey of love. It is the evolution of a love story, from the initial desire to find love characterized by the opening song "Someone to Watch Over Me" to wooing that special person, "If I Had You", "If I Give My Heart to You" and "You Stepped Out of a Dream". We are escalated to the heights of love's passion and excitement with "The Nearness of You" and "You're My Thrill" and explore the strange unexplainable power of love with "She's Funny That Way" and "But Beautiful". The story of loves journey continues with a validation of love in "How Deep is the Ocean" to the fear that the loss of love would mean in "If I should Lose You". And as love's challenge ends in loss, the impact of relationship is felt in "An Affair to Remember". The pain of the loss is felt in "When Your Lover Has Gone". "You'd be so Nice to Come Home To" provide the listener with contemplative reflection. Alas, the thought that it was all a game is exemplified in "Charade". The story concludes with a statement of undying, forever love with the song "I'll Be Seeing You". This CD presents a "whole picture" and the story is used as a Reprise narrated by the vocalist over a soft bed of music that is reminiscent of a movie score. We have all watched movies and read novels that speak about the concept of love and its many faces. Most recordings (single songs) touch on some part of love's experience. Rarely do we have the listening experience in popular recorded music of being entertained with the whole scope of love from its inception to its ending in the bitter sweet story of song. So, for all you romantics... dim the lights, chill the wine, light the candles, stoke the fire, fluff the pillows and hold the one you love.
